Wall Clock Beginning Graphic Design
Brief: Select a historical figure, conduct in-depth research, and create a narrative for them as a hero. Then, create a 3-dimensional clock that represents the hero in time.
My Approach: The historical figure I chose was Joan Baez, so I created a narrative that reflected both her long career in music and long life of activism. I used the visual of a record being played as the clock is ticking to represent music and activism as constants in her life. The clock was constructed out of an 18-inch wooden circle that I stained and affixed the spinning record to. I laser cut the numbers and needle out of chipboard and wood and I designed a sticker for the record which explains the steps of her narrative as songs on an album of her life.
